Trick or Treat not so great for young deer

This morning CNN reported on a young deer in Michigan with a plastic jack-o’-lantern stuck on it’s snout. The deer hasn’t been able to eat or drink for a few days and officials are trying to determine what action to take to save the young buck.

Like goats, deer will eat or nibble on anything. That is why it’s important not to leave things like candy wrappers or string in the woods. It’s also wise not wise to leave things laying around that they may get stuck on their heads, as is evident by this article. Make sure to leave the woods as you found them, not just for beauties sake, but for the safety of the animals as well.
