TechnoHunt Archery Simulations

For the longest time I practiced shooting my bow in the backyard at a home-made Will Stop type target. Shooting at a stuffed bag got the job done as far as practice went, but it was more fun when shooting against someone else. It was also something largely determined by the type of weather as to when and how long I actually practiced. Then I discovered one of my local archery shops had an indoor 3D video range, a TechnoHunt Archery Simulation system.
Talking about a huge difference. I soon myself addicted, going at least once a week for an hour of shooting time, and sometimes even twice a week. Next to actual hunting, it was one of the most enjoyable ways I had found to shoot my bow. And since it was indoors, I was able to shoot year-round, no matter what the weather was like.
Anyone who isn’t familiar with what the TechnoHunt system is, here is how they describe it on their website.
TechnoHunt is the premiere revolutionary new way to enjoy the classic sport of Archery. Whether you are a competative target shooter or a bow hunter looking to improve your aim, TechnoHunt offers you an experience unlike any other. TechnoHunt is a thrilling interactive archery target-shooting environment that transports you to the furthest corners of the world and lets you virtually hunt game many only dream of. Care to try your skills at hitting a target when the wind is attempting to blow your arrows off course? Think you can hit that white tail deer through the trees at 30 yards? What about 40? These are but a few of the amazing experiences the TechnoHunt simulator can offer.
Sounds cool, doesn’t it?
The one I shot at was back in Oklahoma and I miss doing it. I’ve recently been trying to find out if there are any locations in Ontario that has TechnoHunt installed, but have had little luck so far. If I find one and it’s close by, you can bet I’ll be visiting it as often as I can.
Visit their site for a list of shop locations in the US where you can go shoot. Trust me, if you try it, you’ll be hooked.
