Hunting Sense Blog Hunt #1
Sometimes you see an idea that is just so good, you have to join in. That is how the Hunting Sense Blog Hunt came about. I first noticed something similar with Hunting Life’s The Outdoor Blogosphere Version 1 and then saw a variation with Outdoors with Othmar Vohringer’s The Blog Buzz #1 Edition. Basically the idea is to single out post from fellow outdoor bloggers that catch your attention or make you stop and think for a bit longer than you normally would. So here is my take on it with Hunting Sense Blog Hunt #1.

A Different Kind of Hunter
I am not the only hunter in our family. “Artemis Graphics & Design”, my wife, hunts too. Her choice of weapons are not the bow and rifle – not yet anyway – it’s the camera. The tactics of hunting with a camera are very similar in that the object has to be scouted out first. From that scouting trip the right time of day to photograph the object and the frame are established. Of course, just like in real hunting, there are opportunities abound and that is one of the reasons why my wife has her camera handy at all times, be that on walks with the dog, a trip to the grocery store or working in the garden, the camera is always within reach.

The Worst Mistake
Still Sick, MS> I have made a tremendous amount of mistakes hunting whitetail deer. I have missed the damn things at 20 yards and I have let them slip up on me and get away. I have wounded a few over the years that just left me sick to my stomach. What I want to do is relate the worst mistake and the two biggest lessons I have learned while hunting.

There’s Always A Side To Everyone We Don’t Know About
Probably the majority of readers who come to this site only know me from what I write and by looking at the photo of me to the left taken last spring next to the Aroostook River in Ashland, Maine. I have from time to time shared other outdoor excursion I’ve been on with you, including alligator photo expeditions, trudging through the Green Swamp in central Florida looking for wild boar or anything else we could find. Once I even posted some pictures I took of the Grand Prix of St. Petersburg, Florida.
Well, that’s it for this time, but more will came as I plan this to be a permanent bi-weekly addition here at Hunting Sense. To all my fellow outdoor bloggers, keep up the great work.

I think this is a good idea, just as I did when Othmar did something similar. I’m starting to think I should jump on the bandwagon as well. Could be fun.
Thanks for highlighting some good work. I will have to make sure and go read the ones I hadn’t already seen.

Thanks for the link Cliff.
It seems the idea is catching on. Like Rex said it helps us outdoor bloggers to spread the word. Just as important. Readers that come to our blogs look for information and it is a good service if we can put them onto other information, as there is no way that one blog alone can cover everything. This in turn will lead to a loyal reader base on our blogs. Just as hunters are on big happy family, mostly, so are we outdoor bloggers.
