451 Press Sports & Outdoors Channels
Since Hunting Sense first started back in October, a lot has changed in the Sports and Outdoors Channels at 451 Press. Consisting of just two blogs back then, it is now made up of fifteen excellent blogs that I am proud to be a part of. Covering tennis to wrestling, rafting to paintball, baseball to NASCAR, and many places inbetween, it is constantly growing to include any sport or outdoor activity you can think of.
Having never officially welcomed most of the newer additions, I thought I’d take the opportunity to do so now and give you a taste of what they have to offer to boot. So without further ado, a warm welcome to my fellow bloggers. You’re all doing a great job, and I am honored to be among your ranks. Now for you readers out there, take a look at the other Sports and Outdoors Channel blogs you may want to check out.
US nets their Third Gold in a Photo Finish–Brendan Hansen of the US was in a water war with his mortal enemy - Japan’s Kosuke Kitajima in the 100 meter breaststroke. It was essentially a two man race, with The American barely edging out his Japanese rival this time out.
The ‘Capital Punisher’ Frank Howard Signing Autographs–Growing up in the Washington-Baltimore area, as a baseball fan in general, I often heard of the legend of big Frank Howard. Well, yesterday while in Tampa, he was signing autographs for fans, young and old alike for well over an hour. Fans and autograph seekers stood in line flanked by security in an organized fashion, unlike the video below of Don Mattingly.

Fantasy Baseball: Draft Rule One–With pitchers and catchers reporting in what seems like no time, Fantasy Baseball owners need to start prepping for their drafts. The best way to go about that is by Draft Rule One: Study!
73 holes not enough at HONDA–After an unpredictable turn of events in the final round of the Honda Classic, play was suspended due to darkness. What seemed all but won for Boo Weekley was not meant to be. Taking a one shot lead into the final hole, needing only a par to grab his first tour win! Weekley missed a 3 footer to force a four-man playoff.
Bedlam Game Moved to New Date–This year’s football game between Oklahoma and Oklahoma State will be played on Nov. 24, the Saturday after Thanksgiving, the Big 12 Conference said Monday.
NPPL Huntington Beach Pro Division Champions–Whoa! Dynasty…Joy…taking third and fourth? What’s happening here? Is this a sign? Is the Dynasty finally coming to an end? No, no – it’s not like they’re bad, and it’s not like third is a bad finish, it’s just not first. It’s an interesting year so far.
Here we go again–AT&T has filed a lawsuit against NASCAR to allow them to change the logo on the #31 car of Jeff Burton. The change was requested since AT&T took over the ownership of Cingular and is rebranding the cell phone company.
The Salida Experience–We departed from Buena Vista, ragged from the prior evening’s disco excursions…No one wanted to go, but that just made the events of the day most ridiculous. We were setting out on a rafting endeavor of a rare and different kind…A destination float.

LSU Continues To Roll On–After losing their coach Pokey Chatman to resigning the LSU Tigers have been on a roll and last night was no exception. LSU rolled over Connecticut with a 73-50 victory. Sylvia Fowles flexed her muscle as she poured in 23 points and 15 rebounds, but it was her intimidating defensive prescence that was the most impressive.
Saints to pull down Bates statue!–A statue erected at St Mary’s Stadium to commemorate Southamton’s legend Ted Bates is to be pulled down after fans complained of it’s poor quality. The £102,000 statue, which was half-funded by the Southampton fans, is bizarrely out of proportion!
Ron Jaworski is Amused by Your Complete Lack of Football Knowledge–No hating here today at TalkingNFL. If you swung by looking to stomp on the grave of one Joe Theismann, you’ve come to the wrong place. Rest assured, there are plenty of other places where you can go.
TO THE 2007 ROLAND GARROS CHAMPION: ROGER FEDERER–I am looking forward to the clay season. I know it will be tremendously competitive and there will be a lot of stories and surprises to tell. Not to mention it will rain South American players! I will not be around to witness it live. But I am only eyeing one story with confidence: Roger Federer winning the French Open. Thus this open letter even if I know he will not be able to read it himself.
5 reasons the NIT rules the NCAA (no, really)–Florida—Georgetown—UCLA—Ohio State
Just like that, two 1 seeds and two 2 seeds are the only ones left standing — unless you count the NIT. And why shouldn’t we? There are a number of things that make the NIT better than the NCAAs.
Match Added to No Way Out Card–WWE has announced another tag match for No Way Out with this one having title implications. The match will be an exact replica of December’s Armageddon match. The match will be a four way tag team ladder match for the WWE Tag Team Championship currently held by Paul London and Brian Kendrick. The match will pit London and Kendrick against MNM partners Johnny Nitro and Joey Mercury, The Hardys, and Dave Taylor & William Regal.
There ya go. Check them out. As a side note, a couple of them are in need of writers, so if it’s a topic you’re passionate about, give 451 Press a shout and maybe join me here in the Sports and Outdoors Channel blogs.
