Hunting Toys

While out taking a look at some of the newest toys for Christmas, I ran across something interesting. New Ray has out a series of different hunting and fishing play sets, all similar to the Moose Hunting one pictured above. Up until now, the only toys directly related to hunting that I was aware of were the Hunter Dan line of toys. I’m glad to see others joining him.
The best part is that I found these toys at a normal retail store, one that doesn’t even have any hunting related merchandise at all. That, to me, speaks volumes. Maybe it is a step in the direction of hunting not being something shunned or hidden from our kids by the general public as something wrong to do.
I’ve done a little research into New Ray, the company that makes the toys, and I think I’m going to contact them and see if they will answer a few questions about their hunting line of toys. Their focus is on educational toys, and I think hearing from them how this line came about should be fairly interesting. I’ll be sending that email off this coming week and will post up whatever reply I get for everyone to see and read.
I originally intended to put the above Moose hunting set away as a collector toy, but the look on my youngest sons face when I said I was doing that changed my mind. I ended up snapping a few photos and turned it over to him and his older brother to play with. Now I just have to make sure we don’t end up getting a duplicate set for them when Christmas time comes around.

I’ve never heard of these toys or this company. Pretty cool stuff. I’m guessing lots of hunters would give these to their kids for Christmas.

That is awesome. I’m going to consider some of these for my nephews this year! Very cool.
